As a sergeant in the Behavioral Services Unit, Sgt. Harris oversees opioid awareness programs, mental health intervention, and community training initiatives—all designed to create lasting change.

In this session, he will share:

Dwayne Harris serves as a Sergeant in the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement and Behavioral Services Division, bringing over 23 years of dedicated law enforcement experience to his role. He is responsible for developing and implementing critical intervention initiatives, including the Seminole Collaborative Opioid Response Effort (SCORE) and the Mental Health and Behavioral Services Unit—both designed to address the pressing challenges of substance abuse and mental health crises within the community.

Throughout his career, Dwayne has held various roles, including positions in criminal investigations, serving as the chair of the Domestic Violence Task Force, and as a member of the SWAT Team. In addition, he is a sought-after keynote speaker for law enforcement and private sector events and has been recognized and featured on television and radio, and in various publications.

Beyond his work in public safety, Dwayne oversees a faith-based nonprofit organization and is an ordained minister and a published author.

His leadership is defined by a commitment to fostering public safety, collaboration, and compassionate responses to complex challenges.
